About

The Colour Workbook is a 40 page learn-by-doing exploration of colour.

This workbook will introduce you to colour theory and painting with watercolour through play and experimentation. It will be appropriate for art students first encountering colour theory, for artists who are new to working with watercolour, and for anyone who is looking for a guided exploration through the world of colour. We will walk through more than 20 exercises to become familiar with a cyan, magenta and yellow palette. We will discover the colours they can mix, and how these colours relate to each other. The workbook follows a systematic and experimental approach to exploring the dimensions of colour and colour relationships. You will gain confidence in your use of colour, in mixing colours from primaries, recreating colour mixtures, and using colours together to form attractive palettes. The worksheets will lead you to making your own paintings using the colours and relationships that you have discovered on the worksheets.
